New Covid-19 Health and Safety Protocols

If there is any destination with an advantage when dealing with Covid-19, it is Battle Harbour. A resettled, isolated island with limited overnight capacity makes it the ideal location to distance yourself from the world’s troubles.

That said, we have always and will continue to put the health and safety of our guests and employees first. We are a Clean it Right certified establishment and as a result of the pandemic, we are further enhancing our normal practices and protocols to meet and surpass recognized standards to deal with the virus.

Our dining room capacity has been limited to 28 guests to maintain safe distance between diners. This is 50% of capacity. This limit also affects the number of overnight guests we will accommodate. Our spacious island will be even more spacious this summer.

Our housekeeping and kitchen staff have always been praised for their high standard of cleanliness found in our accommodations and dining area. Training in the “Clean it Right” program has provided us with additional awareness and education on cleaning protocols and Covid-19 Health and Safety protocols. In adherence to industry and provincial standards, we are increasing our disinfecting protocols to lessen the possibility of any virus transmission. Checklists will be used to ensure nothing is missed in this process.

Whether hiking one of our incredible trails, taking the guided tour or exploring the artifacts in our museums, we will follow physical distancing and mask guidelines in accordance with provincial orders in these locations.

We continue to monitor updates from our Provincial Department of Health to ensure your safety while visiting our incredible island.

This summer, we look forward to meeting you in Battle Harbour surrounded by the cool, clean air of the Labrador Sea.
